This little guy. I could just eat him up. He wasn't shy for even a 1/2 second. From the time they got here he gave me nothing but smiles and eyebrow raises. We started with some family photos where he clearly cannot get close enough to his mama and needs to chew on her chin for a hot sec. And he would just laugh and laugh as we did. As we moved to his photos by him self he just couldn't stop with all the faces and smiles. We unleashed his chubby thighs he was so proud to show off his BFF's, his toes.

Brinn and her gals got ready at the Landmark Inn in Marquette.  Brinn gave the gals a twirl to show off her dress and everyone was in awe!

I love photographing the details of the day. It can be easy to forget what you wore and why. Having a photo to look back on reminds you of the importance of why you chose to wear those items. 
 
All the small details that Brinn was wearing for the big day. Her mom helped her put on her jewelry and was smiling from ear to ear. Hugs were plentiful. 

Afterwards, we headed across the street to the the iconic Peter White Public Library where we captured some more "ooh's and ahh's" and just enjoyed the gorgeous weather. Her bridesmaids all shared in the enjoyment. I loved the different pink flowers in the bouquets!

Brinn and Derek had their ceremony at the Marquette Regional History Center.  Their reception followed inside of the center. 
I loved the arch they had for their ceremony. It matched the girls flowers and dresses perfectly.
Where do you head to for bridal party photos? Lake Superior of course!  It's hard not to find a gorgeous backdrop for photos where we live. The lake is always sought after and it was only a few minutes away from the History Center. 
Pinks, golds, black, and petals filled the reception area. I love the History Center as a place for receptions. The best thing is the bottom level is filled with all windows letting so much natural light in. And the top level can be accessed to look down on the reception area.

Brinn and Derek enjoyed their first dance together as their friends all gathered on the top level to watch on. It was a really sweet moment. Do you notice the name of the hall? How sweet right?!

Derek's mother joined the dance floor afterwards for the "mother/son" dance. While dancing, the music changed to "Du Hast" by Rammstein. It was something his mother had planned as a surprise. Everyone loved it! Afterwards they shared a hug and the rest of the guests and bridal party danced the night away.

Side note the funniest thing happened during the ceremony. a family friend was video taping and had leaned against an apple tree in the orchard. Just as the bride and her parents were walking up the isle the tree branch breaks and he goes flying (he was fine) we all laughed and Megan finally made it to her Joe.

You really never know what might happen during a ceremony, we had a drone fly into a tree this summer as well. The tree and the drone broke to pieces.

We are a company of longevity. We've been here for 15 years, and many of our clients from then are still our clients now. 

We do not Instagram process our images. One thing you will not see from us is a filter appearance across the whole gallery. There's a few trends that have been going on for a while and we're just not buying it. The lack of yellows in the trees making everything sort of emerald, the foggy softening of blacks giving images a flat mat look, and then the super over exposed bright, bright photos. Now, the newest one, the dark, underexposed, muddy portraits that make skin tones absolutely atrocious. 

Yuk people.

Make it stop. 

I feel for the bride who likes these images. They are appealing, but not for longevity. Have you seen prints form these images? Manipulating the true color distorts your perspective, memory, and the style won't last over time. Looking back at your images you'll be able to tell that they were taken during 2016-2018, when this editing style was very popular. Trends come and go.

You will be able know what you can tell from our portraits. You can feel the reality. You can see real skin tones that were true to the day, not dark and harsh red tones. You can see the true colors of trees and light. You can't tell by looking at our images what year it was.

They are TIMELESS.

Sorry, not sorry.

We won't follow the trend. We will stick with TRUE beauty.

Each January I'm like, I'm going to blog every week, and by march I'm like... what Blog??? 

As a small business there are just so many things to keep track of. And finishing galleries and keeping clients happy just takes priority over blogging. To fix that we have hired a few more gals to help out throughout the year. So here's to a few more blogs.

I have to say something though. A recent encounter with someone in the industry has me baffled. She said... "Do you even DO many weddings?" WHAT?? Yes, we do, we do. We love weddings. This business started out as a wedding photography company and grew to include the newborns and families as my wedding clients and friends had babies and their families grew. We grew to fulfill the community need for professional photography service. SO YES WE DO WEDDINGS, we travel all over the country doing weddings. We provide a 3 week turn around time for your wedding images. We offer easy access to print ordering, album design, and digital files. See Weddings Here

October 9th,10th, 11th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm we have 15 sessions available. Each session is $200, this year we have amazing print collections with savings on prints and holiday cards like you have never seen. We will be hosting them at a home in Marquette. A map will be provided, it's over by 480/553, and pretty easy to find. A big thank you to my parents this year for lending us their beautiful property. 

Our theme is woodsy glam with mat tones of gold and muted fall colors.

What is expected of you if you win?

Winners will have a few mandatory expectations so please make sure you are willing and able to comply with all of these items list below. If you are chosen and then cannot do ANY of these we will have to choose then next woman in line. So please read this carefully and make sure you are on board for it all.

**Vary Important: Once you share your story with us you are giving us permission to use your story if you are selected.  The story you provide will be used when we being the session. The session will be videotaped and published for others to see. This giveaway is for advertisement purposes to launch the beginning of Daniele Carol’s Fine art Women’s Portraits.  If you do not wish to have your story shared or to be videotaped and photographed for public sharing then please do not submit a nomination. **Prints and digital files are NOT included. A full price list will be provided before the consultation so there are no surprises should you wish to purchase anything after the session. **

You will need to be available for 3 visits to the studio: A pre session consultation to be scheduled at a convenient time. The photo-shoot, which will be scheduled on a date all of the ladies can be available. (We will pick a weekend date to make sure everyone can be available.) And then a Reveal to come in to the studio and recap about the your experience and view your images.

Who is eligible? Women 18 and older are eligible. We are hopping to find women from many different backgrounds. You must also “like” our Facebook page Daniele Carol Photography. We will be choosing 4 women.

What do I need to submit to for the nomination?
Please include the Following:
Full Name, Age, email, phone number

Nominating yourself:
Please share a short story of who you are and why you would like this day of beauty and celebration for you. You can send us a couple of paragraphs, or a short video. We would also like you to include a selfie of some sort, or a recent photo you might have of yourself or your nomination.

Nominating a friend or family member:
First ask their permission and have them read what is expected of them.

What is included?
Included if you are selected will be full hair and makeup styling session, a full fine art portrait photo shoot, some pampering and a surprise at your reveal.

Style consultation:
We would like you to come to the studio and bring your outfit choices from home and to chat about what you might wear. We will have a few outfits and dresses on hand as well.

Hair and Make-Up:
Our professional hair and makeup artist will be here to style and prep you. We suggest getting a manicure or your hair colors if you do before the event to make sure you are feeling your best.

Pampering:
Food and beverages will be provided while you are at the studio for your comfort. We will gather a list of things you like and try to accommodate everyone.

A Reveal:
Once the photos are edited you will come back to the studio and we will have your images ready to view.

What will the photo session be like?
We will have all the ladies’ show up staggered throughout the day. When you arrive we will great you with your beverage of choice and a smile! It starts here. You will hang up your outfits and wait to have hair and makeup done or jump right in to the hair and makeup chair if it’s already open. After hair and make-up you will be styled up.  In between outfits we will change the backdrops and adjust your styling as needed. Each woman will have 4 outfits and a variety of poses.

What are the restrictions?
No cell phone photos or digital cameras are allowed in the studio at this time. We want to keep this entire process a surprise for the public. We have some ideas for before and after the session that we will share with you.

Where is the studio located?
The photography studio is located in Negaunee, Michigan at 334 Iron Street, Suite B. We are in the Lowenstein’s building above the Lowenstein’s antique store and Michelson Music. From US41 North Turn Left onto Teal Lake Ave. Turn Right at the blinking light on to Main Street, Turn Left at your first left onto Pioneer and then keep right to turn right onto Iron Street. We are down on the right hand side. I have a big sign and a Mail box with 334 on it.  There is a set of stairs to climb. Come all the way to the top and down to the end of the hall.

Can I bring a friend?
Not at this time. We will have a reveal for you. Your friend or significant other can join you then.

Can I bring my children?
Not at this time. We would like to create a relaxing atmosphere as well as have your undivided attention at your consultation, portrait session, and reveal. Please find a sitter for the times you would need to be at the studio.

Here at the Daniele Carol Studio we are well known for our wedding work and newborn portraits. I ,Daniele, could not be more proud of the work we have done in the past 12 years. We now are located in the heart of downtown Negaunee. The studio is a large open creative space with two rooms. One room known as "the studio" is for capturing photos and houses many props. The other room is an office and meeting room, that acts as a relief room for the parents while their newborn is being photographed in the warm studio.  We also love to photograph those wee ones as they grow with our popular 'Watch Me Grow' packages inside or outside depending on the time of year. For the families and toddlers we prefer to let them roam free, I would much rather run and play outside and so would your kids! After each session and event we host the family for a fun viewing party. The final images are shown on the big screen and we give a tutorial on the website and ordering process.  Photos are typically ready within 3 weeks of your session. The viewing parties are scheduled at your convenience and we are flexible on time and dates. Special offers are included for returning clients, it means the world to us to be your photographer and we like to reward you for coming back time and time again. 

In 2015 we are branching out and we will be including Fine Art Woman's Portraits to our list of services. I have always loved and admired this work and over the past two years I have been studying and mentoring with top portrait artists across the world to bring this service to the UP.
